Calling America: March on the Pentagon
The first installment of Calling America takes place amidst the backdrop of the March 17, 2007 March on the Pentagon. Thirteen activists traveling to Washington D.C and the Pentagon from throughout the country were asked to record a daily spoken word journal entry for the week leading up to the march. Journal entries were delivered daily by telephone to a mobile blogging service and formed the basis of a collective audio weblog that ran live from Sunday, March 11 to Sunday, March 18, 2007. The result is an intimate look into the personal and political lives of a diverse group of individuals brought together, at a critical point in history, to engage in direct democratic action at the epicenter of global power.
