The interpretation of Fire, Water, Earth and Air through a monochromatic lens seeks to evoke the contrasts of light and dark, creation and decay, purity and destruction. Inspired by Hildegard von Bingen’s profound insight that “All the elements are in man, and man is in all the elements,” these images are a response to her vision of this sacred connection, understanding the elements not as mere physical substances, but as symbols of the spiritual tension that binds nature and the human soul.
